「Ensphered 圍影」is a solo exhibition and installation I created in Izumi, Osaka in August 2023, as part of the TartAMI Art Residency Program.
The exhibition concept was to create an ambient space that displayed my animated 3D designs as holographic projections encased in glass containers, while also using traditional materials such as wood and tatami to build the installation, to match the materials and subject matter in the artwork.
I spent a crazy busy four weeks putting this all together- acquiring materials, testing setups and prototypes, animating and compiling my designs, building the installation from scratch and more. A lot of late nights but it was all 100 percent worth it at the end.
Some videos I made as a test during preparation, showing the animated hologram effect in real life.
Thank you everyone who helped me putting this show together!
